LogPad guide
How to use LogPad for quick capture notes
Quick capture means saving a thought before the friction of organizing it makes you lose it. LogPad is built around capture first and organize later.
What to capture
- Ideas, tasks, links, quotes, and references.
- Meeting notes and decisions while they are still fresh.
- Questions to revisit later.
- Research fragments, writing ideas, and daily observations.
Capture first, organize later
Do not stop to design a folder system for every note. Add the note, then add tags, mentions, links, or dates only when they help you find it again.
A simple capture habit
- Open LogPad when the thought appears.
- Write the note in plain language.
- Add one useful token if it is obvious, such as a project tag or person mention.
- Move on. Use search and Smart Folders when you need the note later.
Why this works
A quick capture system succeeds when it is faster than forgetting. LogPad keeps the entry point lightweight, then adds retrieval tools so your notes stay useful after the moment passes.
